Anthony Wayne was a general and Revolutionary War hero. With the exception of five years, he lived in this beautifully preserved Georgian home located in Paoli, PA for his entire life. His grandfather built the house in 1724 using native stone quarried on the 16-acre property.
The house is also known as Waynesborough and is a National Historic Landmark. Seven generations of the Wayne family continuously owned the property from 1724 to 1965. It’s located five miles from Valley Forge and is across from the 200-acre Waynesborough Country Club with a view of their sprawling golf course.
Volunteers conduct house tours which are available by appointment year-round. Visitors are welcome Thursday to Sunday 1-3. For more information, call: (610) 647-1779
The property is a popular venue for outdoor weddings. The visitor center is located in the converted 19th century carriage house.
